What is Antioxidants and Resveratrol

What is antioxidants and how they work is they neutralize free radicals, free radicals contain unpaired electrons the difference in free radicals are electrons come in pairs but free radicals are unpaired electrons, and in this form the can attack our cells causing damage. Antioxidants neutralize the free radials making them harmless.

Where Do Free Radicals Come From

How do we get free radicals, by everyday living, exercising, smog, ultra violet light, and even breathing, the key is not to worry about the free radicals and the damage they do, but our goal is to get enough antioxidants either in our diet or with supplements, and in this day of fast paste world it is easier to get them from supplement form.

What is Antioxidants Job!

What is antioxidants, antioxidants are the protectors of the cells, the same way if you put lemon juice on an apple to keep it from browning. Back in the 1800's sailors got scurvy because there diet didn't include citrus fruit, when they included some limes in there diet it cured the sailors of this dreaded disease, thus they got the nickname limeys.

Cancer is no different than scurvy if we get enough of the antioxidants found in nature we can even prevent this and other life threatening diseases.

Resveratrol Mimics the Calorie Restricted Diet

Resveratrol is another disease preventing natural compound found mostly in grapes, doctors like David Sinclair, Joseph Maroon M.D. and Joseph Baur M.D., Ph.D. believe in it's cancer prevention, diabetes, arthritis pain, Alzheimer, and even slows the aging process like a calorie restricted diet does in experiments with animals.

Unlike antioxidants they help to preserve cells so we can look younger, but resveratrol actually goes inside the cells and turns on the sirtuin genes, over production of cholesterol in our liver, turns on sirt1 genes to slow the aging process, and helps prevent old age diseases. What is antioxidants? they are the backbone of our bodies defense against disease and even premature aging. Click here to watch video about what Joseph Baur M.D. says about Resveratrol and disease.

The French Paradox

Several decades ago, scientists zeroed in on the fact that populations with noticeably better health or significant longevity were known to consume antioxidant rich foods. The French people are a group that consume a high fat diet but don't get heart disease like Americans and we believe it is partly due to red wine and Resveratrol.

What is Resveratrol?

It's a polyphenol found mainly in the skin and seeds of grapes, when plants are under stress from the environment they produce protective compounds against the environment and when we ingest these plants we reap all the benefits of these antioxidants.

What Are Muscadine Grapes

The Muscadine grape has the highest amount of Resveratrol and it also has an extra chromosome 20 instead of the usual 19 found in all other grapes. When this Muscadine grape is used in a polyphenol blend it impacts all four of the mechanisms of aging.

Resveratrol positively effects the first three causes of aging, scientist at a well known Nutrition company have come up with a polyphenol blend of Muscadine grapes and a purple carrot extract that positively effects the forth mechanism of aging Advanced Glycation End Products or AGE proteins.

The Four Key Mechanisms of Cellular Aging

  • DNA Damage
  • Up to one million hits on our DNA every day resveratrol protects our cells like sun screen for our skin.

  • Genetic Regulators
  • Resveratrol protects our genetic regulators so that cells know when to reproduce and die.

  • Declining Cellular Energy Production
  • Mitochondria create energy and resveratrol increases the production of mitochondria.

  • Accumulation of AGE Proteins
  • AGE proteins are like dirty oil in your cars crank case and resveratrol with the Muscadine grape and a unique polyphenol blend helps clean up the AGE proteins in our cells.
Resveratrol supplements are the best way to get the amount of Resveratrol we need to slow the aging process, David Sinclair said to Barbra Walters you need hundreds of glasses of red wine per day to effectively slow the aging process, the right Resveratrol supplement is the only way to get this amount of resveratrol without drinking 100 glasses of red wine per day.
